The Oracle comes from a
development of four prototypes. The final
design was determined after testing the canoe in
many sea conditions. It is a highly competitive
canoe with successful trials in not only flat
and mild conditions, but in rough
Hawaiian waters also, as it was proven during
the Molokai Solo in 2005. The Oracle is a high
volume canoe made for paddlers over 180 pounds.
In the surf it does not dive and push water, and
it planes on top the water in flat conditions.
It is made from either polyester fiberglass or
carbon epoxy, it is relatively lightweight, is
very stiff and durable. It has spectra cables
verses stainless steel cables so that corrosion
is not an issue. Made with aluminum iakos that
have 3 height adjustment settings on the ama,
and the same on the hull, the Oracle can be
rigged to suit your size and skill. The iakos
arch to a position that keeps them out of the
rough water, but allows a rigid geometry with
considerable virtues essential for a high level
OC-1.
